First time doing a maternity session and it’s for your best friend in Scotland…can’t really beat that! Hannah and I have known one another our whole lives. Her mum and my mum grew up together in Dunoon, Scotland and both of them had us at the same time. My childhood summers were mostly spent traveling to Scotland and staying with Hannah for the whole summer. She is the closest thing I have ever known to be a sister. We went from being babies together, to pushing baby dolls in our prams together, to now she’s having a baby of her own! There is nothing like capturing your best friend and the love of her life prepare for their wee family. I’ll admit I got a bit emotional during our shoot haha! I told Hannah I had this vision of her in this flowy yet form fitting dress with the rolling hills in the background. What I did not prepare for was just how much God would deliver all and then some of my expectations. Scotland is known for its dreary days- yet during our session the weather not only cooperated but was absolute perfection. There were so many things about this day that I loved but my favourite part was that she wore wellie boots and at 7 months pregnant hiked up a hill for me. That’s a true Scottish lassie as they say…or that’s true love for me haha either way I will take it! I had the privilege of having a dear photographer friend of mine, Ronnie Cairns, come along for this session and he made the most precious behind-the-scenes video for me! I absolutely love every session I do – but this will forever be hard to beat. I feel so honoured to have been a part your journey Hannah and Chris. I cannot wait to meet little Paige – I love her so much already!
